§ 38-26. Purpose

The sewer committee is established to accomplish the following purposes:

(1) Study the desirability and feasibility of establishing a wastewater treatment system for the city.

(2) Review past studies and documents related to wastewater treatment systems for the city.

(3) Consider alternate approaches to obtaining wastewater treatment facilities.

(4) Review and investigate sources of funds that could be available for a wastewater treatment system.

(5) Conduct public hearings to solicit and obtain suggestions and opinions from citizens and businesses.

(6) From time to time, prepare and present reports and recommendations to the city council, city manager and city staff.
