§ 8-29. Building code adopted
(a) The city hereby adopts the 2006 Edition of the International Building Code, a publication of the International Code Council, including all the appendices of such code, and designates such publication as the "Building Code of the City of Granite Shoals," subject to the deletions, additions, and amendments prescribed in this article.
(b) The term "City of Granite Shoals" shall be inserted in every blank in the Code referring to the name of the jurisdiction.
(c) The city hereby amends the following sections of the International Building Code in their entirety to read as follows:
Section 105.7 Placement of permit. Work requiring a permit shall not commence until the permit holder or his agent posts the permit card in a conspicuous place on the premises. The permit shall be protected from the weather and located in such position as to permit the building official or representative to conveniently make the required entries thereon. This permit card shall be maintained in such position by the permit holder until the certificate of occupancy or completion is issued by the building official. No inspection shall be commenced if the permit card is not located on the property as required by this section; and any re-inspection shall be subject to re-inspection fees established by council.
Section 113.4 Violation penalties. Any person found to violate a provision of this code or fails to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who erects, constructs, alters or repairs a building or structure in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the building official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this code, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $2,000.00. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense. The penalty herein provided shall be cumulative and not exclusive of any other rights or remedies the city may have.
